Huron Rowing Association cannot operate or sustain its legacy year-to-year without the involvement and support of its athletes and families. We understand your time is valuable and limited but we guarantee there is an opportunity to fit your availability. And, if you are new to the HRA family, getting involved is a great way to meet other families and immerse yourself into the rowing culture. All volunteer opportunities involve training, mentoring, shadowing and support so you can be confident and excited about the role you partake in.
CURRENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS
FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE & CO/CHAIRS
We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with various fundraising activities. Whether it is a car wash, strategizing corporate sponsors or coming up with other creative ideas, we need a strong group of volunteers to come together and make this happen. If you have a passion for fundraising or just enjoy planning, please consider signing up for this committee. We need a new fleet and this will not happen unless we have the funds to back the need.
REGATTA SUPPORT
Our Regatta Support Volunteers are by far the rowers favorite group of people. Led by our HRA Regatta Support Chair, we keep our rowers comfortable and fueled for a long day on the water. And, signing up is a breeze via sign up genius offering multiple shifts and opportunities to choose from throughout the day.
Roles Include:
-Tent Set Up/Take Down
-Food/Beverage Preparation & Set Up
-Cooking Meals
-Serving
-Dishes & Clean Up
TRAILER DRIVERS (BOAT & REGATTA SUPPORT)
Ideally, these volunteers have a vehicle to support tow capacity. Training can be provided.
LAUNCH BOAT DRIVERS
We need your help keeping our rowers safe on the water during practice. This is a great opportunity for those parents who hang out during practice and training can be provided.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
With this being a high school oriented organization, we know our rowers will eventually graduate and turn over will occur. This is why it is so important we cultivate relationships with our rower families in the hopes of providing a seamless successful succession plan. It's never too early to get involved and the more people that get involved make the role of Board Member that much more efficient and gratifying.
