REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS & GUIDELINES

Welcome to Huron Rowing; we are excited you have decided to join our rowing family! Registration is a multi-step process including separate requirements for Huron High School (HHS) and Huron Rowing Association (HRA). The following information will guide you through the registration process and hopefully answer any questions you might have. 

Before we begin, please note:

• All steps of the HHS and HRA processes are vital to ensure your rower’s eligibility to participate on the team and all steps are required to be completed prior to the athlete participating in any on-the-water practice

• For liability purposes, Coaches are not permitted to allow athletes to participate unless their registration is incomplete. To ensure your athlete is eligible to practice, please follow the guidance provided below.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Visit the Huron High School Athletics Website:
To begin the Huron High School Registration Process, please visit the Huron High School Athletics Website at https://huron.a2schools.org/athletics/registration 

Once you visit the website, you will see that Huron High School Athletics provides step by step details regarding how to complete their requirements. 

Huron High School Requirements Include:

• Parent & Athlete Registration with PlanetHS.

  • PlantHS is also known as Big Teams which can be accessed here: https://studentcentral.bigteams.com/ 

  • Make sure to select “Rowing – Fall” and/or “Rowing – Spring”.

  • Complete/Upload the following forms to PlanetHS:

    • Huron Medical History Form

    • Huron Physical Examination Form

    • Pay to Play Receipt (See below for more details).

    • Code of Conduct/Player Contract/Consent Form

• Paying the Ann Arbor Public Schools “Pay to Participate” Fee

  • The Pay to Participate Fee can be paid here: https://a2schoolsorg-37-us-east1-01.preview.finalsitecdn.com/pay-to-participate 

  • Note, the Pay to Participate Fee is separate from the HRA Assessment Fee.

HURON ROWING ASSOCIATION 
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Please note, we understand some of the information you are completing may be repetitive of the Huron High School process, but Huron High School does NOT provide us direct access to the information within PlanetHS. Thank you for your understanding!

STEP #1: ATHLETE REGISTRATION
Visit the Huron Rowing Website https://www.huronrowing.com/

New Athletes/Families:

Click “Register” in the upper right-hand corner of the HRA website. You will be redirected to Sports Connect which is our registration platform. Here, you will select, “Create an Account”. All parents should create the account and serve as the account holder/user. Athletes cannot register themselves.

***Parents, when creating the account and going through the registration process, you will be given an option to add a secondary account user. If there is another parent or family member you want to include in our email list, please add them during this step. The secondary user will then receive an email invitation to join Sports Connect. 

Upon creating your user account, you will be prompted for various registration information as well as provide payment for the assessment fee (more information provided below in Step #2).

Returning Athletes/Families: 

If you are a returning family, you will need to click “Login”. This will direct you to our Sports Connect Platform. *Athletes cannot register themselves. A Parent/Guardian is required to register their athlete. You will be prompted for various registration information as well as provide payment for the assessment fee (more information provided below in Step #2.)

STEP #2: ASSESSMENT FEE PAYMENT
We are aware rowing is an expensive sport and each family’s financial situation is unique. HRA is proud to offer various payment plan options at registration check out to meet the needs of all our families. 

Should your family have significant financial hardship, there are scholarships available, and we encourage you to reach out [email protected]. We never want to see an athlete unable to participate due to inability to pay and want all to have the opportunity to experience rowing.

HURON ROWING ASSESSMENT FEE SCHEDULE

STEP #3:  US ROWING WAIVER & MEMBERSHIP
Our insurance is provided by US rowing and a valid US Rowing Membership is required for each rower. Waivers must be completed by a parent or guardian for athletes under the age of 18 years old. 

#1. Login/Join at US Rowing https://membership.usrowing.org (Select Individual). 

#2. To complete the waiver, you will need to Renew or Join “Huron Rowing Association – Ann Arbor Huron H.S.” by selecting “Renew” or “Join Organization” tab on the “Membership Profile” page. The HRA Club Access Code is SD7DK.

#3. Select “Basic Membership” & complete the payment of $25.

STEP #4 – SWIM TEST CERTIFICATION
All new rowers must obtain a Swim Test Certification. Download the form on the HRA Website by clicking the "About Us" tab and selecting "Documents & Forms". If you need assistance in finding swim certification opportunities, please contact a member of the coaching staff. Once completed, please turn this form into your coach. 

STEP #5 – TRAVEL REGATTA PAPERWORK
If our team participates in out of state regattas, additional paperwork will be required, and this will be distributed to you in advance for completion.

STEP #6 – HRA CODE OF CONDUCT & FINANCIAL COMMITMENT POLICY
Parents/Guardians as well as athletes need to review the HRA Code of Conduct & HRA Financial Commitment Policy. These forms can be found on the HRA Website by clicking the "About Us" tab and selecting "Documents & Forms". 

*By moving forward and completing the registration process on the Huron Rowing website, you are indicating that the athlete and parents/guardians agree to the terms and conditions of the HRA Code of Conduct & Financial Commitment Policy.

STEP #7 – EMAIL OPT IN
