REGISTRATION
REQUIREMENTS

Registration is a multi-step process including requirements from both Ann Arbor Public School and Huron Rowing Association. All steps of each process are vital to ensure your rower’s eligibility to participate on the team and all steps are required to be completed prior to the athlete participating in any on-the-water practice. For liability purposes, Coaches are not permitted to allow athletes to participate unless their registration is incomplete. To ensure your athlete is eligible to practice, please follow the guidance provided below.  

The diagram below provides a brief step-by-step overview of each of the processes for AAPS and HRA. Below the diagram, you will find additional detailed information to walk you through each process.

First, start by visiting the following AAPS Webpage for step-by-step instructions:

The AAPS Requirements Include:
-
Parent & Athlete Registration with PlanetHS.
-Completion of various Athletic Forms & Uploads.
-Pay to Participate - Community Education & Recreation 
-Sports Physical

#2. Huron Rowing Association

Step One – Register
Visit www.huronrowing.com. If you are a new family, you will need to click “Register.” If you are a returning family, you will need to click “Login”. This will direct you to our Sports Connect Platform. *Athletes cannot register themselves. A Parent/Guardian is required to register their athlete. You will be prompted for various registration information as well as provide payment for the assessment fee (more information provided in step two).

Step TwoAssessment Fee Payment
Please note, we are aware rowing is an expensive sport and each family’s financial situation is unique. HRA is proud to offer various payment plan options and registration check out to meet the needs of all our families. Should your family have significant financial hardship, there are scholarships available, and we encourage you to reach out to [email protected] to further discuss options available. We never want to see an athlete unable to participate due to inability to pay and want all to have the opportunity to experience rowing.

The Huron Rowing Assessment Fee Schedule:

Fall Season - $700

Winter Conditioning - $225 
*AAPS Requirements/Pay to Participate and US Rowing Waiver are NOT required for Winter Conditioning.

Spring Season - $700

Summer Conditioning - $300
*AAPS Requirements/Pay to Participate are NOT required for Summer Conditioning. US Rowing Waiver is required if participating in Summer Regatta.

Step ThreeUS Rowing Waiver
Our insurance is provided by US rowing and a valid US Rowing Membership is required for each rower. Waivers must be completed by a parent or guardian for athletes under the age of 18 years old. *Note, this is required to be completed annually. To complete this process please complete the following steps:

#1. Login/Register at US Rowing https://membership.usrowing.org (Select Individual). 

#2. To complete the waiver, you will need to Renew or Join “Huron Rowing Association – Ann Arbor Huron H.S.” by selecting “Renew” or “Join Organization” tab on the “Membership Profile” page. The HRA Club Access Code is SD7DK.

#3. Select “Basic Membership” & complete the payment of $25.

Step FourSwim Test Certification
All new rowers must obtain a Swim Test Certification. Download the form on the HRA Website by clicking the "About Us" tab and selecting "Documents & Forms". If you need assistance finding swim certification opportunities, please contact a member of the coaching staff. Once completed, please turn this form into your coach.

Step Five – Other Paperwork as Required from Ann Arbor Public Schools
If our team participates in out of state regattas additional paperwork will be required and this will be distributed to you in advance for completion.

Step SixHRA Code of Conduct & Financial Commitment Policy
Parents/Guardians as well as athletes need to review the HRA Code of Conduct & HRA Financial Commitment Policy. These forms can be found on the HRA Website by clicking the "About Us" tab and selecting "Documents & Forms". *By moving forward and completing the registration process on the Huron Rowing website, you are indicating that both the athlete and parents/guardians agree to the terms and conditions of all the above Requirements, Commitments and Policies.
